The prestige ban 2014.
Almost 3 years after the acclaimed “Black mouths”, tons of gigs and a memorable roadtrip around Cuba, Parisian Alternative Hardcore/Rock/Punk band The Prestige is about to release a brand new album. Recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé (As We Draw, Birds in Row) and mixed by Bob Weston (Shellac) this new record is expected in April on CD/LP/digital through Basement Apes Industries, Bad Mood Records, Brutal Beatdown and Nature Morte (The Prestige own imprint) amongst other local labels.
In other way, The Prestige unveils a short documentary of its journey around Cuba : in 2014, the band received an exceptional invitation to tour the island, leading the winter edition of the Brutal Fest with other European and Canadian bands. Director Berzerker (Closed on Sunday) followed and captured their adventure in the documentary called “Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground”.
Beyond politics, economics and style;  it offers a new view over the passion of Cuba with one motto : unite, share, sweat and smash the party good. The mini-film, supported by Party Smasher Inc., The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman & TremensS/ExperiensS‘ Thomas Bouaziz creative platform is currently available right now for streaming.
The Prestige has also unleashed a first track titled ‘Léger de Main’ from its upcoming album, available for FREE DOWNLOAD.
For the record…
Born around 2009, The Prestige, hi-energy quartet from Paris, plays a mix between (post) chaotic hardcore, intense punk, metal and rock under constant injection of adrenaline.
A few months later, the band released its debut recordings with a DIY EP called “A series of catastrophes and consequences”. Then, after some great live performances, The Prestige began to work on its first full-length record : “Black mouths” finally released in 2012 through Basement Apes Industries, Brain Ache, Enjoyment Records & Tangled Talk. In 2014, the band recorded their second album in order to unleash its new musical creature in 2015.
For fans of Converge, Every Time I Die, The Ghost of a Thousand, Norma Jean, Touché Amoré, The Carrier….
