Mental Architects
Math-Rock
Mental Architects are a math-rock trio from Sofia, Bulgaria. The band tries to break away from the lack of tradition in rock music indigenous to our area with a style of “Joie de Vivre” instrumental rock close to the sound of ASIWYFA and Fang Island.
The band’s latest full-length release -“Celebrations” came out on 2/APR/2012 and is definitely a step in the direction of disproving that the instrumental rock aesthetic belongs exclusively to artists from the West.
“Celebrations” was produced and engineered by non-other than Aaron Harris (ex-ISIS) with mastering handled by James Plotkin (Khanate). The record includes notable guest appearances by Joseph Andreoli of math-rock bigwigs Giraffes? Giraffes! and Bryant Clifford Meyer of Red Sparowes.
The band has one previous official release, the EP – “Patience, Communication, Understanding, Go!” which came out in 2011. It was produced/engineered by Chris Common of These Arms Are Snakes. Gig-wise the band has a rich experience in promoting local shows as well as touring since 2008.
