CCW : debut album for immediate release

Long-time project born in 2004 under the nickname of Counterclockwise, the band emerged from the French scene with the aim to mix rock and metal influences with electronics elements. Several line-up changes later, Counterclockwise became a trio and took the name of CCW and recorded a first EP (“Never fade away”, 2010).

With its new formula, the power-trio worked fast in order to put in the pipe a new EP (“Second nature”, 2011) and then a debut full-length album, both recorded @ Hesat Studio (Bordeaux, France). On spring 2013, CCW released its first album ”Scream and live”, available for full streaming right NOW!

The Black Widow’s Project : “Heavy heart” for exclusive streaming

Greatness and decadence, poetry and rock n’roll, love and sex, peace and war.

These are the words that inspire this atypical stoner-grunge/power-rock 70′s band called The Black Widow’s Project, formed in 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland by the singer/guitarist Al Castro and the drummer Math Sink, performing a music both clean and dirty, coated with primitive hard rock which would flirt with the energies of grunge music. The quickly released its first EP called “Benefit Of The Doubt” which arouse great interest among the audience and in underground venues.

After several lineup changes, Raph Despas joined the band as the bass player which allows them to find an even more powerful and personal sound.

Early 2013, The Black Widow’s Project released its debut full-length album, “Heavy Heart”, on limited CD edition. A few weeks later, the album is available for exclusive and entire streaming on Heavy Planet (USA) and W-Fenec Magazine (Europe)

ALT : Damaged new official music video

After 3 EPs in less than a year, ALT is going to unleash the last part of its 4 EPs series, expected for a september release. But in the meantime, took some time to shoot music videos.

Last months, the band revealed a videoclip for it’s single “This ain’t no hit” from it’s EP #2. Right now, a brand new video is available on YouTube for the song “Silhouettes & summer frowns”.

“The tone is set, the motto, definitive. Because if you want a thing done well, do it yourself : french power-rock act ALT considers that if their music has to be labeled, better do it with a category they would create themselves. Damaged Rock then, somewhere between high-energy rock, indie alternative from the 90?s and catchy stoner-pop.

Damaged as the reflection in a broken mirror from those past and present styles, periods and places that ALT claims as its essence… turning it into a nervous and finely wrought muscular fundamental element…”

Backtrack Lane : Debut album “Black truth & white lies” out now!

It’s out, “Black truth & white lies”, the long awaited debut album from French rock’n'roll outfit Backtrack Lane is available right now on CD & digital through Quart de Lune – Socadisc/ Idol.

Driving much faster than 88 miles/h, in its own Delorean, Backtrack Lane has met so much great rock bands across time. From Los Angeles to Stockholm passing through Seattle, London or Manchester, these four french guys from Paris have been listening to every dirty, classy and powerful rock’n’roll sounds until burnout.

Formed in january 2009, Backtrack Lane is a rock band composed of two brotherhoods (yes, 2x of two brothers) which recorded an EP “It’s not like” during summer 2009. Two years and plenty of gigs later, the band went to Fat Bros Production studio in order to put its debut album in the pipe. Their own conception of Rock music on a full-length effort : “Black truth & white lies”.

A few days after the first announcement, “Astronomical distances”, the brand new EP by All Dogmas We Hate is available from now for digital download.

ADWH : four letters for a name which sounds like a mantra : All Dogmas We Hate. French metal/hardcore act from Nîmes, this five-pieces band didn’t want to lose time so after a bunch of fierce and productive work, opened the studio’s door in order to record a debut full-length album called “Back to Reality”, released a few weeks later through M & O Music/Musicast/Twilight Distribution (Gravity, Holding Sand, My Only Scenery…).

The band got medias attention on metal sphere (webzines, magazines and some radios), collecting positive and constructive critics, and giving the French metal scene an outstanding beginning. Hard workers, the five guys get back in studio in february 2013 to give a follow-up to their debut album with “Astronomical distances”.

SaaR : Debut album “The last day” for immediate digital release

SaaR is first and foremost a human project without any limitation of the mind, a will to express themselves as any musician should : an absolute freedom of expression. The will to go on without a singer imposed itself because the arrangements of the songs didn’t need any.

Somewhere between instrumental post-rock, atmospheric metal and experimental noise music, SaaR released a 3-tracks EP in January 2011 before to play its first gigs. One year later, the band recorded a first full-length effort as a single one-track album divided in 4 parts and unleashed right now for digital before a physical edition expected in the next weeks/months.

From now, “The last days”, is available right now for digital and full streaming on Bandcamp.

Karma Zero unleashes Snake music video

Violent world = violent music : a few months after the release of its debut full-length effort, “Architecture of a lie”, the french metal/deathcore outfit Karma Zero has just unleashed a brand new official music video for the song “Snake”, extracted from the album and available right now on YouTube.

For the record : born in 2008, KZ0 played @ Hellfest Metalcorner scene in 2009 before to release a 5-tracks self-titled EP a few months later. Then, Karma Zero shares the stage with bands like Madball, Shining or The Arrs with the participation to the Motocultor festival and decides to work in 2011 with Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) to record its debut album.

Consouling Sounds announces Labirinto | Thisquietarmy split release

Labirinto, instrumental and experimental post-rock from Brazil & thisquietarmy, ambient/experimental/shoegaze/postrock/drone one-man-band from Canada will release a split effort available on June 11th on CD through Consouling Sounds (AmenRa, Syndrome, The Black Heart Rebellion…) and LP on Dissenso Records and Pirate Ship Records (The American Dollar).

It will be available for full-exclusive streaming at the beginning of June.

While waiting for the streaming session and the the official release, the cover art is available below and the pre-orders are up for CD edition (worldwide) and LP here (Europe & North America) or there (South America).

Active since 2005, thisquietarmy is the experimental guitar-based brainchild of Eric Quach from Montreal, Canada (also involed in Destroyalldreamers, Ghidrah, Mains de Givre, Parallel Lines…). Revolving around improvised guitar-based drone music, he takes his sonic experimentation further by adding textural and structural elements of industrial, shoegaze, krautrock, post-rock, black and doom metal to them. The results can be described as dark, melodic, expansive and engaging dreamscapes. His live performances are mostly presented as a real-time score to hypnotic ethereal visuals, which he creates himself for each show.

Under the moniker of thisquietarmy, Eric Q has released full-length albums on Denovali Records (Germany), Aurora Borealis (UK) or Foreshadow (Poland) as well as several collaborative/split albums, EPs, 7″s & tapes with Aidan Baker from Nadja, Monarch!, Scott Cortez (Lovesliescrushing) or Year Of No Light, on various labels as Alien8 Recordings (Canada), ConSouling Sounds, Destructure Records (France) as well as his own imprint TQA Records.

Formed in in 2003 by friends who sought to materialize their various musical and personal influences through instrumental composition, Labirinto (“labyrinth” in portuguese) seeks to create textures and environments full of imagery, as in a movie soundtrack, in which the scenes are on account of the listener’s imagination.

Their musical references travels through many different styles, from ambient music, to metal, from progressive to drone, resulting in a rich mixture so deeply inspiring, and intense melodies along several passages that can be found on each track.In 10 years, Labrinto has released several EPs : “Pseudo Segurança Compensatória” (2005), “Cinza” (2006), “Labirinto” (2007), “Etéreo” (2009) and “Kadjwynh” + an acclamaid full-length album on 2010 (“Anatema”).
